Important! If shopping around ensure that the Suburban SW6DERA unit you purchase includes the Suburban System Switch plate - Without this switch plate you wont be able to operate your unit! CaravanMods include the switch plate when purchasing a SW6DERA Heater along with White or a Black Door combo.
If replacing an SW6DEA unit then this switch plate isn't required as the switch plate used on the SW6DEA is the same as on the new SW6DERA.
The SW6DERA must not be used with the old style SW6DEA door or any other HWS door. Only purchase the 'no door' option if you have an existing SW6DERA door on hand already.
The Suburban SW6DERA is the latest release from Suburban replacing the SW6DEA model, The new SW6DERA has been WaterMark Certified for the Australian Market. The SW6DERA offers a 20.3L Hot water heater which can be run on either Gas or 240V as well as manual or automatic 12V ignition.
Manufactured in the USA the SW6DERA features a steel tank with porcelain lining for an extended life and copolymer insulation jacket for superior heat retention.
Most commonly installed under a seat or in the back of a cupboard accessible by the supplied access door from the outside of the Caravan, Camper trailer or Motorhome.
All Suburban RV Hot Water Systems have an anode rod which absorbs the corrosive action of hot water. In the SW6DERA this is easily accessed through the access door of the unit, simply unscrew the anode to drain the tank of water and periodically check the condition of the anode.
