FAQs
What are caravan wheel chocks used for?
Caravan wheel chocks are used in front of and/or behind the wheel of the caravan preventing it from moving when stationary. By placing them under the wheels, they help to keep the caravan in place on level ground.
How do I use caravan levelling ramps?
Caravan levelling ramps are placed under one wheel of the caravan and the trailer is driven onto them to raise one side.
You can level the caravan one of two ways. For starters, to level a caravan from left to right, follow the steps below:
- Determine which side of the caravan needs to be levelled — Using a spirit level or caravan T-bubble Level determine which side needs to be raised.
- Fix your levelling ramp on the side to be lifted — Place your levelling ramp in front of the tyre(s) of the side to be lifted. and simply drive onto the ramp until the spirit level bubble centres.
- Secure your caravan into place — Fix a caravan wheel chock onto your levelling ramp firmly against your tyre and apply the trailer’s brake.Â
To level your caravan from front to back, complete the following steps:
- Determine which end needs to be raised — Similarly to above, the spirit level or Caravan T-Bubble level will help you determine which direction to raise or lower.
- Adjust your jockey wheel — If your spirit level determines the back of your caravan or camper trailer is lower than the front, wind your jockey wheel down to lower the front and vice versa.
