A quality sacrificial magnesium anode rod equalises aggressive water action providing cathodic protection for the tank. An anode rod is a very important factor in tank life and should only ever be removed for inspection or draining.
The Suburban Anode Rod is made for use in the 4, 5 & 6 Gallon tanks. Please be aware that some imitation anode rods can cause damage to your Suburban HWS and cause any warranty claims on your Hot Water System to be denied.
