A lock built into the door
Most pole carriers are locked with a standard padlock, which can be cut quickly and quietly with bolt cutters. On the Promore Products pole carrier the lock is integrated into the door itself, at both ends, so there is no exposed padlock hanging off the end for anyone to cut.
Pick your length
Measure your anti flap kit first and make sure it is shorter than the inside length. We tested with our own Secura Bar kit and roof rafters, and other brands can differ slightly.
Sizes are nominal. For example, the 2.3m is 237cm outside and 230cm inside, so check the inside length against what you want to carry.
Poles and extra storage
Great for poles or extra storage.
Outside: 187cm
Inside: 180cm
Weight: about 8.8kg
Anti flap kit taken apart
Fits an anti flap kit (disassembled) plus 2 roof rafters. It is a snug fit, so if you carry extra poles choose the 2.2m or 2.3m.
Outside: 207cm
Inside: 200cm
Weight: about 9.7kg
Short and medium kits, assembled
Fits most brands of short and medium anti flap kit (assembled) plus 3 roof rafters.
Outside: 227cm
Inside: 220cm
Weight: about 10.7kg
Short, medium or long kits, assembled
Fits most brands of short, medium or long anti flap kit (assembled) plus 3 roof rafters.
Outside: 237cm
Inside: 230cm
Weight: about 11.2kg
Every size: 20cm body width (21cm across the hinge), 13cm high, door opening 168mm x 100mm. The inside is slightly larger than the door opening.
Three ways to mount it
Always mount it across the direction of travel. It has not been crash tested lengthways, so it is not made for a car roof rack.
Caravan drawbar
Across the drawbar, the most common spot.
Top of the rear bar
Across the top or back of the rear bar.
Jayco Outback front lip
Under the front lip of most Jayco Outback wind up campers. Measure first.
Hidden track, flexible fitting
The integrated mounting track is built into the underside, so there are no visible brackets or clamps on the sides, just a sleek, clean look. It is also more flexible than standard mounting systems. The supplied M8 T nuts slide the whole length of the track, so you can position them to suit your drawbar, rear bar or camper. A stainless steel mounting kit comes with every size. See the install guide for the full steps.

Slide the T nuts to where you need them, then the threaded rod and mounting plates clamp it in place.

Common questions
Will my anti flap kit fit?
Measure your anti flap kit assembled and check it is shorter than the inside length of the size you choose. The 2.3m (230cm inside) suits most short, medium or long kits assembled plus 3 roof rafters, and the 2.2m (220cm inside) suits most short and medium kits assembled plus 3 roof rafters. The 2m (200cm inside) takes a kit taken apart plus 2 roof rafters, and it is a snug fit, so if you carry extra poles choose the 2.2m or 2.3m. The 1.8m (180cm inside) suits poles or extra storage. We tested with our own Secura Bar kit and roof rafters, and other brands can differ slightly.
What else can I store in it?
We use ours for an anti flap kit and rafters, or the bed fly poles on our wind up camper. It works for anything long and slim you need extra space for, like some fishing rods, telescopic Starlink poles, tent poles, shade or windbreak poles, a flag pole, some collapsible ladders, or a broom and squeegee for washing the van. Before you pack it, check the item fits through the 168mm x 100mm door opening and is shorter than the inside length of your size.
How do I fit the most in?
Load your anti flap kit pieces in loose rather than in their travel bag. That way you can place each piece carefully and make the most of the space inside.
Why choose this over a PVC pipe or round carrier?
The flat, rectangular body gives you more room inside for poles, rafters and an anti flap kit. The lock is built into the door at both ends, so there is no padlock or screw cap to deal with. With the mounting track hidden underneath, it also looks far neater on your van.
Can I mount it along the van or on a roof rack?
No. Mount it across the direction of travel only, for example across your drawbar or the top of your rear bar. It has not been crash tested mounted lengthways, so it is not made for a car roof rack.
Can I mount it under the van or under the rear bar?
We do not recommend it. The supplied hardware has not been tested in those positions, and hanging it underneath may change your departure angle. Mount it across the drawbar, across the top or back of the rear bar, or under the front lip of most Jayco Outback wind up campers.
Will it fit my Jayco Outback?
It fits under the front lip of most Jayco Outback wind up campers, including the Jayco Swan Outback, Hawk Outback, Eagle Outback, Penguin Outback and Dove Outback. We recommend double checking before you order, as it may not fit every year model, and aftermarket accessories fitted to your drawbar can get in the way. Measure the space under your front lip and compare it with the width and height of the pole carrier. The T nuts slide the whole length of the mounting track, so you can position them to suit your camper.
Can I cut it shorter?
Yes, if you need a shorter carrier for your van or camper. Remove the 6 screws in the door frame face, cut the body perfectly square, then partially remove the screw channel on the lock catch side so the cam still catches. Any issues caused by shortening are not covered by warranty, so measure carefully and choose the closest size first.
How does it mount?
The integrated mounting track runs along the underside and the supplied M8 stainless steel T nuts slide the whole length of it. Position the T nuts to suit your drawbar, rear bar or camper, then fit the 250mm threaded rod, mounting plates and nylon lock nuts. The install guide (PDF) above covers the full steps.
How secure is it?
The lock is built into the door at both ends, so there is no exposed padlock to cut off with bolt cutters.
Is there a warranty?
Yes, it comes with a 1 year warranty. Issues caused by cutting the carrier shorter are not covered.
