Which kit do I need?
Count your treads and compare their depth. Two treads with different depths need the Galvanised Double Step kit, and two treads the same depth need the Aluminium Double Step kit. One tread needs the Single Step kit. If you are not sure, measure each tread from front to back and match it to the sizes above.
My two treads are the same size. Which kit?
Choose the Aluminium Double Step kit. It has two matching 360 × 505 mm rugs with 3 springs each, sized for two 545 × 200 mm treads.
Why are the Galvanised Double Step rugs two sizes?
Galvanised double steps have a deep top tread of about 300 mm and a narrow bottom tread of about 180 mm. So the kit pairs a 555 × 450 mm top rug with 5 springs and a 360 × 505 mm bottom rug with 3 springs, each sized to wrap its own tread.
Will it fit an electric step?
Yes, as long as the treads match or are close to the sizes listed above. It suits electric and manual pull out steps alike, and the springs flex to take up small differences in size.
How does it attach?
Each rug wraps around the tread and hooks on underneath with springs that run between the metal eyelets. There are no tools, drilling or glue, and it takes about a minute per step. Hook the middle spring first, then the outer ones.
Can I leave it on when the step is folded away?
Yes. The rugs stay fitted when you fold the step away, so you can travel with them on and they are ready the moment you set up. This works on all three step types.
How do I clean it?
Just hose it down and let it dry. For a deeper clean, unhook the springs, take the rug off, hose or shake it out, then hook it back on.
Is it slippery when wet?
It gives better grip than a bare metal step, even when wet. That makes stepping in and out of the van feel more sure footed in any weather.
What is it made of?
Marine carpet suited to all weather and outdoor use, with metal eyelets and springs underneath. It is made to stay on the step outside the van for the whole trip.
