Easy to tighten, even in a tight spot

The clamping lever is spring loaded. Pull the handle away from the mount and it lets go of its position, so you can swing it back to wherever suits you, then release it and it locks again ready for another pull. It works much like a ratchet spanner. That means you can do the pole clamp up good and tight even when the jockey wheel, handbrake or gas bottles leave you almost no room to swing your hand.

Built to handle the leverage

A telescopic pole with a dish on the top acts like a very long lever, and every gust of wind gets multiplied by the time it reaches the bottom. That is why there is a stainless steel shoulder bolt at the base of the clamp. It carries that load and stops the mount bending or flexing over time.

Protected inside and out

The steel is zinc plated before it is powder coated black, so there is a second layer of corrosion protection sitting underneath the paint. The shoulder bolt and the two rear bolts are 304 stainless steel, which is what you want for something living on the front of a van in salt air and dust.
